Christmas traditions around the world are filled with unique and meaningful words that capture the spirit of the season but I was surprised how many words I found starting with the letter B across multiple languages. From decorations like bougies (candles) and bombki (baubles) to treats like bûche de Noël (Yule log cake) and biscotti (cookies), each country has its own way of making the holidays feel special.

There are also warm holiday wishes and blessings, like buenos deseos and bênçãos de Natal, that remind us to spread joy and kindness. Some of these words bring to mind the festive lights, music, and cozy gatherings, while others connect to the peaceful, reflective side of the season, like bezinning (contemplation) and besinnliche Zeit (reflective time).
